In this year's 20th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine, they will be revealing that the TV anime based on Sakaku Head's manga series "Himouto! Umaru-chan"will be getting a second season. The live-streamed DaraNama Returns program also announced the news on Saturday. The anime's official website and Young Jump posted a teaser promotional video and visual for the season coming this fall (can be found below).
The main staff from the series first season is slated to return for the second season, this includes the anime studio Doga Kobo, director Masahiko Ohta, series script supervisor Takashi Aoshima, and character designer Aya Takano. According to the description of the teaser video, the following main cast will be returning to reprise their roles:
Aimi Tanaka as Umaru Doma
Kenji Nojima as Taihei Doma
Akari Kageyama as Nana Ebina
Haruka Shiraishi as Kirie Motoba
Yurina Furukawa as Sylphynford Tachibana
The first televised anime series first premiered in July 2015 and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America and will release the series with a English dub.
The 10th volume of the manga will ship on April 19 and will also be bundled with an OVA (original video animation) DVD which the original TV staff & cast will also be returning for.
Sankaku Head launched the manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2013 (after running an earlier two chapter Himouto! Umaru-chan version in Miracle Jump in 2012). 2.7 million copies are in print as of March of this year.
The manga centers around Taihei Doma and his little sister Umaru, who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports. However, she has a certain secret. Everyone may think she is the ideal girl, but she is anything but. "Himōto" is a pun on "imōto" (little sister) and "himono," which means "dried fish," but in slang can refer to a woman who is proper in public but lazy at home.
The manga inspired the Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan, Himōto! Umaru-chan S, and Himōto! Umaru-chan SS spinoff manga. Himōto! Umaru-chan SS ended on February 28. The manga has also inspired the Himōto! Umaru-chan F: Himōto Enikki fanbook and the Himōto! Umaru-chan N novel.
Hyper Dragonball Z Champ's Build & Trailer Released
On Friday, the team responsible for the Dragonball Z inspired fan game "Hyper Dragonball Z" has just released the latest version update called "The Champ's Build" to the M.U.G.E.N powered indie game. With this update comes a slew of changes along with the game HUB, character balance across the whole game, & new stages.
Along with the new game version update, the team also released a trailer highlighting which shows off some of the game changes as well as show some of the incoming characters that will be making their way in 2017 like Juuhachigou (Android 18), Krillin, Tien, Majin Buu, & Gotenks:
Hyper Dragonball Z is an unofficial Dragonball Z fighting game created to resemble what a DBZ fighting game would look like it if was made by the Japanese game development company Capcom. The game is created by a team of people who create content for the fighting game engine "M.U.G.E.N". M.U.G.E.N. is a game engine that's been around for years that is used mostly to make fighting games which allows people to make their own dream fighting game.....although there is some small programming & designing on the developers part required if you want to make your game. You can download a pre-made game from other developers and play them right off the bat let alone customize them to your liking (again, if you know how).
Hyper Dragonball Z is available to download now from the groups facebook page.

With the new site now running smoothly (so far), we at Anime Toshokan can now concentrate with refilling this site with content for our users as well as open new doors for people who are willing to help in any way.
As the news title suggests, we are looking for gamers who are open minded with their opinions in giving feedback on Japanese doujin games that have potential for the US/EU market. Before anyone asks, yes, this is a volunteer position but this is also official work on our part as you'll be helping companies make decisions on games they want to try and bring to the western market but would like opinions on various aspects of the games such as:
Is the game fun?
Do you enjoy playing X game?
How is the gameplay to you? Does it make you want to continue playing?
What are some of the things you would change before being officially released?
Questions of these matters are just an example of what you'll be asked. Anime Toshokan will not be releasing these games and we're not becoming a US publisher of these games but rather our feedback will go to the company that wants a public opinion on a product they have in mind. We will not disclose any information as to who our clients are but if you've known MikuruX for a while then you probably know who he is helping.
Being in this group, however, you will be instructed and to hold your part as a tester of Anime Toshokan to never disclose any information or data of any game you test with us. You will not allowed to talk about anything regarding your work here at Anime Toshokan or about our clients regarding the testing out in public or family/friends. Breaking these rules of the group will automatically cause for your termination from the group and possibly a life-time ban from this site (These are serious offenses and we will not tolerate insubordination). If this sounds like something for you and something that you can do, please inform us in the comments or private message Mikuru//X.
Off the press this week of E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), it's been said that Square-Enix are indeed developing a Final Fantasy VII remake for the Playstation 4.
The Final Fantasy VII remake will use the more modern / recent art style for Cloud, that being his design from his appearance in Dissidia Final Fantasy or Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The remake is being created as part of the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII.
(We would like to point out that we're not talking about the Final Fantasy VII port for the Playstation 4 that was previously announced by Square-Enix back last year during the Playstation Experience convention.....you know, the one where everyone was trolled.)
We'll update more on this story as more information comes to us.
It has only been about a month since Nitro+ Blasterz ~Heroine Infinite Duel~, the fighting game developed by EXAMU (Arcana Heart, Daemon Bride, Aquapazza) with characters from the visual novel games developed by Nitro+ (Saya no Uta, Super Sonico, & lots of others), was released in Japanese arcades. Early this month, Marvelous Entertainment (publishers of the Senran Kagura series), has announced that they will be porting over the game to the Playstation 3 & Playstation 4 this year during the Winter. During this time, lots of news regarding the game has been released in regards to the console version.
Senran Kagura's Homura has been announced that she will appear as a guest character for the console version of the game. It's not known if she will appear in the arcade version but given that the arcade versions of games usually serve as the testing grounds for new characters & mechanics or vice versa, there is a good possibility of her appearing in a later update along with Saber, Ethica, & Oka.
Yesterday, it was teased by XSeed Entertainment - the US publishing company owned by Marvelous Entertainment Japan - that Nitro+ Blasterz would be appearing to the west for a home release. It has been officially announced today by XSeed that the game will be making its way for a western release (NA & EU) at the same time as its Japanese counterpart (This is not known as they're both are just given a tentative Winter 2015 release date....no specifics).
It has been announced in this week's issue of Famitsu magazine that Nitro+ Blasterz: Heroine Infinite Duel, a 2 vs 2 fighter developed by Examu (Arcana Heart series, Aquapazza, Daemon Bride: Additional Gain) & Nitro+ (Super Sonico, Saya no Uta, Steins;Gate) will be making its way to home consoles for the Playstation 3 & Playstation 4.
The upcoming console version will have slight changes made from its arcade release. Most notable will be the addition of Super Sonico to the playable cast. Super Sonico was originally promoted in the game as one of the support characters you get to choose along with the playable cast. There will also be more new characters announced for the home version in the near future.
Come on Examu, you know you want to promote Angela Blazac from the support cast to a playable character.
Due to complete & utter lack of customer service with our former site hosting company "Globat", Anime Toshokan was forced to move to another host in order to gain the full benefits of the latest version of Invision Power Board which is version 4.0 that is currently now in testing (we're using the current release candidate as of right now).
Because of this move and other issues with Globat & compatiability with the database, again, the site has been wiped a new. Also, Anime Toshokan will for now be closed off from the public until we feel that it is ready to open for the general public to use. We are unsure of our vision of the site but we'll keep working till we find one that both pleases us and our users.
We apologize for all of the trouble that this may cause for everyone but we hope you all will work with us during out testing phase of the new Anime Toshokan website.
The year is 2015 and the anime industry is currently rampant with anime reboots, new seasons, moeblobs, & ecchi fanbase shows and the Summer 2015 anime season is especially no exceptions with the likes of Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, Teekyuu (5th season), DragonBallZ Super, Ushio & Tora (reboot), Miss Monochrome 2nd Season, Working!!!, & so on. I mean, there are a few action & drama anime shows this season and Gangsta is one that is good to go into so that one can break away from the monotony of the current airing season.
Gangsta is a new show this anime season which originated as a manga series that is written & illustrated by Kohske. It has been published since 2011 in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @ Bunch magazine. The tale of Gangsta revolves around Worick Arcangelo & Nicolas Brown, two "handymen" who take on odd jobs for both the mob and the police that pretty much no one else will wants to do or handle in the town of Ergastulum. This town is pretty much filled to the brim with mafia, hoodlums, prostitutes, dirty cops.....you name it, this town has them. Episode one pretty much starts off slow with introducing the main three characters of show, the third being Alex Benedetto who starts off in the show as a prostitute who works for a gang that Worick & Nicolas sent to go after but in the end is spared her life by Worick and becomes their assistant. Of course, we may already know the reasons behind this as there might be some other "intentions" behind it....or maybe not but we'll just have to see as the show goes on. Keep in mind, I've never read the manga so I'm going in on this show blind to what is going to happen. Because of this, I found it weird at first when Nicolas never speak until we find out that he's "deaf as a doornail" but for some odd reason he's able to fight on par with people who can hear and use guns while we see he uses only his katana. As for Worick, he fights....a little and he does look like he'll be playing hooky a lot from time to time in this series.
It isn't until the end of episode one where we can see just how frightening Nicolas is and by that I mean his strenght. It's not everyday you get your car kicked off two of its wheels, right?
Okay, maybe it is. We just know not to piss this guy off. This flow of story progression continues at this pace as we go into episode two where Worick & Nicolas are visited by Nina, another character who will probably be popping up more frequently from now on, are given a job to help out the local area doctor and her boss, Dr.Theo. More characters are introduced and even the meaning of the dog tags that Nicolas wears is explained and even some of the shows antagonists are introduced (but not shown). Honestly, episode two is my favorite as of right now as the series goes into some rather light comedic moments but their a fun addition to this series that hangs on the premise of staying edgy with its theme thanks to the addition of Dr. Theo & Nina.
I swear, the funny moments in this show are a not over the top but are always a welcome as long as they stay short & sweet. Oh and here's shirtless Worick for you all!!
My thoughts on the show was that it "initially" I was going into a series that wanted to be something like Cowboy Bebop or better yet, Black Lagoon. Yeah, I know. Why does everything have to be like Cowboy Bebop or Black Lagoon!? Can you blame me for thinking this? I mean; with the current run of shows that we've been seeing as of late in the past few years each anime season, it's like shows like this are becoming rather rare where the author actually tries to put a story in that seems like events like these could be happening somewhere in today's world (outside of stupid strenght of Nicolas). At any rate, I Gangsta seems to have some staying qualities that will keep me wanting to watch it to see how things unfold and it's not like I actually drop shows early in its airing......unless it seems like it absolutely sucks, which this doesn't to me but that's just my opinion on the matter.
And yeah, another reason I started watching is because of Alex. I mean, she's no Faye Valentine or Revy but for this current anime season lineup of girls, she's good on the eyes to watch. I'm hoping the show will continue at the pace at it's going but maybe that's some hopeful wishing on my part and maybe it will happen. I'm also hoping that the show doesn't try to go overboard with wanting to be too edgy with it's theme where things starts to get out of hand. I'll explain more on that as the show progresses.....maybe. But for now, just know that Gangsta is worth looking into this season, at least.
