A new manga inspired by the band "Maximum the Hormone" has begun serialization in this year's fall issue of Shogakukkan's Coro Aniki magazine this past Friday. The story for the new manga story is written by band member Maximum the Ryo-kun while Hideaki Fujii (Battle Spirits: Shonen Toppa Bashin, LBX - Little Battlers eXperience, Shin Megami Tensei DEVIIL CHILDREN) will be doing the artwork. The title of the new manga is called "Maximum the Ryo-kun no Hissatsu!! Outsider Kokoku Dairinin" (Maximum the Ryo-kun's Certain Kill!! Outsider Advertising Agent) delves into the advertising industry of Japan. The story begins when a female member of Coro Coro Aniki's editorial department named Shibata goes to the Hormone office. A prologue was published back in the magazine's summer issue which was released in June. Anime fans may remember Maximum the Hormone music as they've performed the second opening & ending theme songs for the Death Note anime series, an ending theme song for Air Master, & a insert song for the theatrical movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F. On the 2nd manga volume of Sakurako Gokurakuin's Brave ☆ Star Romantics, the wraparound jacket band announced on Saturday that Sekirei, one of Gokurakuin's earlier manga titles, will be returning as a regular series. Sekirei will resume in this year's 10th issue of Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine on May 2. The advertisement for the manga has teh subtitle "Kanojo no Inai 365-Hi no Koto" (365 Days Without a Girlfriend). It further teases with the tagline "One year with his girlfriend gon. One Year until she returns." In the original story, Sekirei takes place in Tokyo known as Shinoto Teito in 2020. Minato Sahashi, is an extremely intelligent 19 year old yet due to his inability to cope under pressure, has failed his college entrance exam twice. One day, Minato meets a girl named Musubi, who literally falls from the sky. Minato soon learns that she is a "Sekirei" who chose him as her "Ashikabi", one of the mysterious set of humans that have the genetic trait who can make contact - by kissing - with the Sekirei. This binds the Sekirei to him and allows them to use their full power in elemination battles with other Sekirei. Made up of 108 cute girls, buxom women, and bishonen, the Sekirei fight in a competition known as the "Sekirei Project" organized by Hiroto Minaka, the chairman and founder of the mysterious and powerful MBI Corporation. Minato soon learns that being the partner of a girl is not all fun and games, especially when several other Sekirei choose him as their Ashikabi, each also forming a contract with him. Now Minato must find a way to survive both the life-threatening battles of the Sekirei Plan and his partners' fierce competition for him. Gokurakuin had originally stopped the Sekirei manga on August 2015. She began the series in 2004 and the series inspired two anime adaptations in 2008 and 2010. Funimation has released both anime in North America. Yen Press is publishing the Sekirei manga digitally, and will start publish the manga in print in July. Gokurakuin serialized the manga Kaisei no Caricature in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine from September 2015 to December 2016. She was credited with the original idea, setting, and storyboarding, while Hiromu Mogi wrote the story and Sora Goto provided the art. Gokurakuin launched Brave ☆ Star Romantics in November 2015. Mikuru//X posted an article in Otaku NewsManga writer & creator Daisuke Sato passed away on March 22, 2017 due to ischemic heart disease at the age of 52. It's reported that the immediate family have already held a funeral service and that his younger sister Yuuko Shinmyo was the chief mourner. Sato's works included the High School of the Dead (Highschool of the Dead in Japan) manga with artist Shoji Sato and the Imperial Guards manga with artist Yu Ito. High School of the Dead went on hiatus from 2008 to 2010 but then went on a extended hiatus on March 2011, only to release a new chapter in April 2013.
